Oklahoma
Celia Harkey, M.S., R.D., L.D. Midwest Dairy Association
Celia Harkey is a consumer communications manager with the Midwest Dairy Council, where she is responsible for TV, radio and print interviews and as a liaison with health professionals in Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma.
As a registered dietitian, Celia is available as a nutrition resource to provide accurate, user-friendly and science-based information for media and health professionals. Specifically, she is assigned to all Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma media markets, including Little Rock and Fort Smith/Fayetteville, Arkansas and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Celia has many years of experience working with food safety, developing and editing recipes and individualizing and combining foods for a healthy diet with a variety of flavors and nutrients. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Education, Master of Science Degree in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Nutrition and completed the Dietetics Internship Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. After completing her education, Celia worked as a clinical dietitian with an emphasis in treating patients with eating disorders and chemical dependencies. Subsequently, she worked as a foods editor – including managing a test kitchen, editing copy and handling food styling – for a publishing company.
Celia is a member of the Arkansas Dietetic Association, currently serving on the Board as director of communications. She also volunteers with the Humane Society of Faulkner County.
Teresa Wagner, M.S., R.D., L.D. Dairy MAX, Inc.
Teresa Wagner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Texas Christian University and a Master’s degree in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. She is a registered and licensed dietitian. A member of the American Dietetic Association and the Texas Dietetic Association, she is on the Public Relations Committee. She is currently president of the Fort Worth Dietetic Association.
Teresa previously specialized in pediatric and neonatal nutrition in both hospital and community settings. Prior to Dairy Max, she had her own consulting business serving clients in diabetes management, fitness, computerized diet office systems and education. Teresa taught at the community college and university level for 10 years.
As part of the Dairy MAX staff she is responsible for developing and implementing nutrition education programs for educators, health professionals and consumer leaders in Texas. Additionally, she is responsible for reputation/crisis management communications for the Dairy Max region staff, producers and scientific advisory board.
As a supervisor, Teresa oversees these efforts in conjunction with her program coordinators in Dallas/Fort Worth, Oklahoma and New Mexico. Teresa has been involved in many community and charitable initiatives throughout the region she serves. Teresa also serves as a media communicator in the Oklahoma City and Dallas/Fort Worth markets. She will be assuming the media communicator role in Albuquerque and Santa Fe in 2005. Most recently, Teresa was selected as a National Media Ambassador by The National Dairy Council’s Dairy Management, Inc. She has completed multiple radio interviews, radio talk shows, newspaper interviews, television interviews and cooking demonstrations.
