Virginia

Kristen Hughes Brittle, R.D.
Southeast United Dairy Industry Association

Kristin Hughes Brittle is a registered dietitian with the Southeast Dairy Association. Kristin has a professional background in academic teaching and long-term care.

Kristin received a Bachelor of Science degree in human nutrition, food, and exercise from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Kristin taught middle school in the Richmond area before returning to Virginia Tech to complete her dietetic internship. Currently, Kristin is a registered dietitian and member of the American Dietetic Association. Kristin also acts as a state leader for the Virginia Action for Healthy Kids team.

At the Dairy Association Kristin is responsible for implementing nutrition programs for schools, health professionals, and key leaders within the state. She serves as a regional media communicator and is scheduled to appear on television and radio outlets throughout the Richmond and Tidewater area.

Isabel Maples, M.Ed., R.D.
Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association


Isabel Maples is a nutrition communicator for the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association where she is responsible for food and health related communications in Northern Virginia.

In her current role, Isabel translates nutrition research and technical jargon into everyday language that consumers can digest. She has completed more than 75 print, radio and TV interviews on nutrition-related topics that help consumers decide, "What's for dinner tonight?"

As a registered dietitian, Isabel is committed to guiding consumers past the confusion of dietary restrictions, leaving consumers instead with nutrition news they can use…and with making food fun again. Isabel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed a dietetic internship in Colorado Springs and later earned a Masters of Education degree in Sports Nutrition and Wellness from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Throughout her career, she has been a member of various state and regional dietetic associations as well as the American Dietetic Association. Currently, she is the state Public Relations Chair and media spokesperson for the Virginia Dietetic Association.

Jill Henderson, R.D., L.D.N.
Southeast United Dairy Industry Association


Jill Henderson, a registered dietitian with the Southeast Dairy Association, is a native of Virginia and a graduate of Virginia Tech where she earned a degree in Human Nutrition and Foods. Her career of 22 years has included work in clinical nutrition in hospital, long term care, and home health care settings. She has held positions in sales and marketing for health care management services and nutrition-based businesses. Jill is a member of The American Dietetic Association,  the Tennessee Dietetic Association and the School Nutrition Association.

 At the Dairy Association Jill is responsible for implementing nutrition programs for schools, health professionals, and key leaders within the state.  She serves as a regional media communicator for television, radio, and newsprint throughout northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
