Barbara BaronBarbara R. Baron, MS, RD, CDN 

Barbara Baron is a registered dietitian and spokesperson for National Dairy Council. She has been the vice president of Nutrition Affairs of American Dairy Association & Dairy Council, Inc. (ADADC) for 18 years. As director of Health Professional Communications, Ms. Baron conducts seminars and develops messages about dairy’s health and nutrition benefits to physicians, dietitians, and community health leaders. She also serves as a nutrition expert and spokesperson conducting interviews with media.

Prior to joining Dairy Council, Ms. Baron worked as a clinical dietitian at The Hospital for Special Surgery, specializing in orthopedic and rheumatic diseases. Her work experience includes nutrition counseling and nutrition lectures on rheumatic diseases, osteoporosis, weight reduction, and heart disease.

Ms. Baron completed an American Dietetic Association approved internship at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics/dietetics from Hunter College in New York City, and a Master of Science degree in nutrition and physical fitness from New York University. She was awarded “The Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year“ by the American Dietetic Association in 1994 and the “Distinguished Dietitian of the Year” from the Greater New York Dietetic Association in 2002.
