Jean Ragalie-Carr, RDN, LDN (@JeanRagalieRD) is a board member and Chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (ANDF), President of National Dairy Council, and Treasurer/Secretary for Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK).

As a registered dietitian nutritionist, Ragalie-Carr has dedicated 30 years to nutrition, health and wellness. Her career has included working in agencies, associations, companies and healthcare. One of her personal passions is to lead the way people look at nutrition and agriculture. Her work with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the Foundation focuses on connecting agriculture and nutrition education and joining dietitians and farmers.

Jean has worked for National Dairy Council (NDC) and dairy farm families since 1996. In 2015, NDC will celebrate its 100 year anniversary (#NDC100). As the President, it has been a privilege for her to help lead NDC and move the organization into the next century of nutrition and health leadership.

At NDC, in partnership with the National Football League (NFL), Jean helped create and lead one of the nation’s largest proven school health and wellness programs making a difference in more than 73,000 schools and in children’s lives: Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60). Currently, she is leading efforts to educate people about a healthy, sustainable food supply to feed the world in partnership with AND and Feeding America. The goal of this effort is to help increase access to adequate amounts of healthy foods for all Americans and decrease food insecurity in the U.S.
Ragalie-Carr was one of the four principal architects of Action for Healthy Kids and currently serves on the Board of Directors since 2002. Her volunteer work includes the local food bank and serving on the Leadership Round Table for GENYOUth Foundation.
Throughout Jean’s career, partnerships have been critical to her success, from the White House to the school house, including working with organizations like the NFL, GENYOUth Foundation, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Feeding America, the White House Let’s Move program and partnerships, like School Nutrition Association, the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition, World Wildlife Fund and many more.
Jean is a native of Chicago, and a proud 2013 Distinguished Alumni of the College of Applied Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She enjoys helping keep her family healthy and active by encouraging them all to eat right and get at least 10,000 steps a day.
