Judith K. Jarvis, MS, RDN, LDN, is the Director of Dairy Science Communications for National Dairy Council (NDC). In this role, she is responsible for management and implementation of communication activities on dairy’s role in health and wellness, engaging with health professionals, the dairy industry and the public. Through writing articles on NationalDairyCouncil.org, she provides perspective for health and wellness professionals on new research findings, including tips and tools to help them apply it to their work with the public and in their own lives. Articles she writes for DairyGood.org help answer questions people are currently asking about dairy foods and health.
Since joining NDC in 1992, she has gained extensive experience monitoring the nutrition and scientific literature and summarizing and interpreting the findings of dairy-relevant research in a newsletter for staff and the broader dairy industry. As a natural extension of her interest and experience in nutrition research, she has led the development of science-based educational materials, including research summaries, fact sheets, health professional presentations, book chapters, and website education. For several years she also managed NDC exhibits at medical and nutrition conferences. Prior to joining NDC, she worked as a clinical dietitian, providing medical nutrition therapy to cardiac and renal patients.
Judith is an active member in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the American Society for Nutrition, and the Chicago Food and Nutrition Network (CFNN), of which she is a past president and board member. She has authored several articles for scientific and nutrition journals and is a co-author for all three editions of the Handbook of Dairy Foods and Nutrition.
